Kids will use a virtual reality helmet to experience the sights and sounds of other locations on the Preserve – showing the power of technology to share the experience of nature.
Please join us January 6 at 3PM at Browns Ranch Trailhead, McDowell Sonoran Preserve for a free guided sound walk led by Dr. Sabine Feisst from the Acoustic Ecology Lab @ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts.
This two day field trip is being organized by Dr. feisst for her Desert Music class and will feature the artist Glenn Weyant who has a long history of performing the border wall and engaging in activism around the fortification of the border. We will spend a full 24 hours in the park including overnight (Feb. 14-15, 2020), and will make field recordings and undertake various listening and other musical exercises
