Junior Citizen Science Day – McDowell Sonoran Field Institute

Dawn Chorus Day (May 7)

ASU’s Acoustic Ecology Lab will participate in this year’s International Dawn Chorus Day events by contributing live streaming of birdsongs from Tempe to the “Reveil” broadcast on the Sonus Locus network. In the course of 24 hours Reveil gradually moves west from microphone to microphone set up in places around the whole world to continuously feature birds singing at dawn. Recording Sounds in Joshua Tree National Park – Workshop Dec.14

Glenn Weyant workshop – Organ Pipe National Monument

This two day field trip is being organized by Dr. feisst for her Desert Music class and will feature the artist Glenn Weyant who has a long history of performing the border wall and engaging in activism around the fortification of the border. We will spend a full 24 hours in the park including overnight (Feb. 14-15, 2020), and will make field recordings and undertake various listening and other musical exercises
