Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication is hosting a public expo featuring a host of cutting-edge technologies impacting journalism’s future.
Cronkite Innovation Day includes a variety of interactive attractions, including indoor drones, telepresence robots, wearable technologies, 3-D printers, virtual reality experiences and more. The event is open to all ASU students, faculty, staff and the public.
Innovation Day is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 3, from 4-8 p.m. at the Cronkite School on ASU's Downtown Phoenix campus. The event is happening in conjunction with ASU’s Night of the Open Door, a public open house with free activities across the Downtown Phoenix campus, and First Fridays, a monthly art walk in Phoenix.Find out more »

ASU’s Acoustic Ecology Lab will participate in this year’s International Dawn Chorus Day events by contributing live streaming of birdsongs from Tempe to the “Reveil” broadcast on the Sonus Locus network. In the course of 24 hours Reveil gradually moves west from microphone to microphone set up in places around the whole world to continuously feature birds singing at dawn. The Listen(n) project has been selected to be included as one of JT Lab’s Artist Programs in Joshua Tree National Park for 2017-2018. The committee noted out commitment to supporting the missions of both JT Lab and Joshua Tree National Park.Find out more »
Capitalizing on the power and beauty of sounds in the park, sound artists Garth Paine and Sabine Feisst offer 2-hour workshops that teach both listening skills and field recording techniques. These workshops include creative activities such as sonic meditations and sound mapping.
